The Skywarn program is a collection of groups and individuals who volunteer their time to their communities by providing timely and accurate information to the National Weather Service. This information is used by the National Weather Service and the media to insure timely warnings for bad weather and other emergencies.

Metrolina Spotter Group - Catawba¹, Cleveland¹, Gaston¹, Iredell, Lincoln¹, Mecklenburg¹, and Rutherford¹.
ILM Skywarn - Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, Pender, and Robeson.
Newport District Skywarn - Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Dare, Duplin, Greene, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, Onslow, Pamlico, Pitt, Tyrrell, and Washington.
Southwest Carolina Skywarn - Cherokee and Clay.
Triad Skywarn - Alamance, Caswell², Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, Rockingham², Stanly, Stokes², and Surry².
Wakefield Skywarn - Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Gates, Hertford, Pasquotank, and Perquimans.
NO SKYWARN GROUP - Alexander, Anson, Avery, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Cumberland, Davie, Graham, Hoke, Jackson, Northampton, Richmond, Rowan, Scotland, Swain, and Union.
¹ - Counties are shared between the Blue Ridge Spotter Group and the Gaston Spotter Group.
² - Counties are shared between the Triad Skywarn and Blacksburg Skywarn.
